Contemporary. Improvised.
I’m a classical guitarist and improviser who studied at the University Mozarteum Salzburg with Eliot Fisk, who was my main mentor for seven years. Although my roots are firmly in the classical tradition, I enjoy improvising—letting the music unfold in real time rather than sticking to a fixed score. For me, a performance is an interactive moment: the music develops right there in the room, and the audience becomes part of that creative process. I first started improvising after being inspired by Keith Jarrett’s solo piano concerts; over time, I’ve experimented with contemporary techniques to push the classical guitar in new directions. I’m based in Croatia, where I teach classical guitar at the Music School Ivan Matetić Ronjgov in Pula.

Teaching
Teaching is a fundamental part of my life, shaped by experiences across several music schools in Croatia, including Ogulin, Rovinj, Poreč, Pula, and Labin. One of the most meaningful influences on my teaching came from my time at Ezra Guitar in New York (2013–2018), where I worked with students of all ages, from toddlers in musical story times to young beginners learning the guitar. These experiences helped me develop a flexible and engaging approach to teaching, allowing students to connect with music at any stage.
Currently, I’m playing through Beethoven piano sonatas, exploring contemporary techniques, like those of Olivier Messiaen and Arvo Pärt, and drawing inspiration from one of my teachers at the Mozarteum, composer Alexander Müllenbach. I also share my learning journey on my YouTube channel where I document my thinking process and explore new guitar possibilities using these contemporary techniques.
