Contemporary. Improvised. Emotion.
Classical guitarist and improviser, I studied at the University Mozarteum Salzburg under guitar virtuoso Eliot Fisk, my main mentor for seven years. While deeply rooted in classical tradition, I improvise music spontaneously, composing it as it unfolds in the moment. Each performance is a shared experience—music that is born in the same space as the listener, creating an immersive inner soundscape. What began as inspiration from listening to Keith Jarrett’s solo concerts has evolved into my own approach, where I seek to explore contemporary techniques and extend the boundaries of classical guitar. Based in Croatia, I teach classical guitar at the Music School Ivan Matetić Ronjgov in Pula.
Teaching
Teaching is a fundamental part of my life, shaped by experiences across several music schools in Croatia, including Ogulin, Rovinj, Poreč, Pula, and Labin. One of the most meaningful influences on my teaching came from my time at Ezra Guitar in New York (2013–2018), where I worked with students of all ages, from toddlers in musical story times to young beginners learning the guitar. These experiences helped me develop a flexible and engaging approach to teaching, allowing students to connect with music at any stage.
Currently, I’m playing through Beethoven piano sonatas, exploring contemporary techniques, like those of Olivier Messiaen and Arvo Pärt, and drawing inspiration from one of my teachers at the Mozarteum, composer Alexander Müllenbach. I also share my learning journey on my YouTube channel where I document my thinking process and explore new guitar possibilities using these contemporary techniques.
